Schools don’t impart an appreciation of high culture. If education was responsible for 100% of the interest in Shakespeare, it would still be failing. We train students to be artists, poets, fiction writers, translators, historians, geographers, and theologists. How is that superior to teaching them their choice from an array of practical vocational skills?
