Liz Truss is the free-market leader I’ve wanted. But the arguments can be tricky to make because they’re often counterintuitive. Markets need to know there is a plan because economic reality doesn’t give way to an unarticulated but good policy. Cutting taxes while spending more isn’t small-government economics. Yet, if Truss fails, people will also condemn the philosophy.
