When I consider even the micro-level decisions that each human makes, inequality strikes me as ineliminable. Assortative mating - that there are patterns to partner selection - makes a mockery of the ideal. Unless we want to regulate who can form relationships, people will, on average, select for similar interests, careers, and incomes.
