There is a vision through which people see human greed and self-concern as curable. They do not accept that we must direct these instincts toward positive ends or that cumulative cultural incentives prevent its worst expressions. For those that believe human nature is alterable, the best of us could lead the wost of us to Utopia, and even the worst of us would accept - knowing it was for our good.
