Where Do Mothers Best Serve Society?

Economics is the study of the allocation of scarce resources. With this, perhaps we can look at the perceived value of mothers in a different light.
Children and careers compete for the time of a mother. Recently career has been winning because we value mothering at approximately £0. The allocation of the scarce resource of mothers is to menial labour. The labour is often far less valuable than a caring mother producing decent, moral children.
