It seems to be more acceptable to proselytise about loving oneself when those doing so are less attractive. A Lizzo who sings about loving herself is celebrated. A Katy Perry would be given less leeway.
My theory is that this has something to do with the perceived threat. Somebody beautiful who realises they are beautiful is dangerous in a game-theoretical sense.
