Actor-Observer Bias

Actor-observer bias refers to a tendency to attribute one’s actions to external causes while attributing other people’s behaviours to internal causes.
“I was late because the delayed trains screwed me and then the lift broke down. He was late because he’s rude.”
It is a type of attributional bias that plays a role in how we perceive and interact with other people.
