There is an anti-family and anti-natalist ideology concretising amongst a certain contingent of the left-wing. They no longer see it as worthwhile to subordinate to their family in any sense. The fierce individualism is in contrast to other aspects of the same demographic which are aggressively tribal. The latter epitomised in the regressive instinct to retreat once again to racial groups.
It seems unlikely to be a coincidence that there is a rise in this rejection of family when the environment is such that millennials are looking to be economically worse off than their parents, and when affording to build a family seems like a pipe dream.
