We over exaggerate how unique our tastes are. “I like blonde hair”, or “I think a Russian accent is very sexy”. Notice nobody (I’ve ever met) says “I like one eye”, or “I get excited if a person has a hunch back”. The vast majority of our preferences are shared, and we take this for granted. Something can be said to be beautiful almost independent of a single person’s subjective taste because there is so much cross over. Why?
