In this time of crisis, we face two particularly important choices. The first is between totalitarian surveillance and citizen empowerment. The second is between nationalist isolation and global solidarity.

His emphasis on a need for a global unification around this virus, and an international conversation about similar threats going forward, echoes exactly what myself and a friend have been discussing recently.
