Motte-and-Bailey Doctrine

Also referred to as strategic equivocation. The origins refer to the Bailey, a well-kept and comfortable but open location where on lives; and the Motte, an old, uncomfortable tower from which you effectively defend the land. People want to spend their time in the Bailey because it is where they can live productive and happy lives, but when attacked they are required to take shelter in and rain arrows down from the Motte. In social justice terms like privilege can be explained entirely reasonably and defended easily. The terms however are more productively used in a more vulnerable state of existence. When questioned the warriors retreat to the Motte and defend the terms dishonestly until the attackers give up.
