Kehinde Andrews can rub me the wrong way, but amongst his majority nonsense reasons for reparations his talk of the payment to slave owners is worth thinking about. Katherine Birbalsingh’s opening argument was brilliant and powerful - she touched on many of the points I would have wanted made. I found Esther Stanfod-Xosei to be boring. Tony Sewell was a funny character who, in a roundabout way, spoke to the futility of declaring black people to be victims.
The questions were largely For the motion, and Katherine struggled a little with a chair, Emma Dabiri, who was clearly also For the motion.
