Differences in Sexes

  • There is a small part of the hypothalamus responsible for regulating sexual behaviour which is larger in men than in women.
  • Men have more connections in the connective tissue in the brain running from front to back, and women have more inter hemispherically (right to left).
  • The averages in different task processing vary between sexes.
  • Sex refers to the chromosomal differences between biological males (XY) versus biological females (XX) whereas gender can be considered at the range of characteristics between masculinity and femininity. This classification of sex does not account for rare intersex individuals.
  • Girls born with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism are masculinised in the womb and subsequently gravitate towards male typical interests and toys, they are also more likely to be me lesbian.
  • Higher prenatal testosterone exposure is strongly correlated with male-typical behaviour.
