The Inversion Technique

The technique of inversion is employed in acknowledgement of the fact that attempts to “improve” something are often accompanied by unintended harms. By “inverting” the problem and asking the question “how I do avoid making this worse?” you reduce the risk of precipitating these harms and can generate answers even if the subject matter is a relative unknown. Striving to simply ensure that one is not actively damaging the system being managed can be eye-opening as it may well reveal many things that are currently occurring which are obvious negatives.
