SpaceX's Starlink

Starlink is the SpaceX project to provide truly global access to an internet connection at an affordable price.
The first phase will consist of 1584 satellites spread across 24 orbital planes with 66 satellites in each plane inclined at 53ยบ. Their closer proximity to the Earth will allow for faster speeds than those achieved by normal communication satellites, and the laser-based communication between the satellites is aided because the speed of light in a vacuum is faster than that through glass. Each satellite has 5 optical communication systems on each satellite, maintaining as many connections and ensuring stable networking. New York to London communication would happen with a delay of 43ms which compares to the 76ms experienced by the average person.
This speed boost benefits everybody, but no-one more so than stock brokers. The Hibernia Express Cable is a privately owned cable between Secaucus, New Jersey and Slough, England and reduces that aforementioned 76ms delay to 59.95ms which is still 39.4% slower than Starlink. This cable was worth its $300 million cost despite only beating out a similar cable by under ~6ms.
Cellular networks are now transitioning to 5G - in the U.S. this will cost $150 billion to set up. The entire Starlink project will total just $10 billion, helped in part by the $300k cost of each satellite - far less than standard communication satellites. SpaceX are also saving money by launching the satellites on their own Falcon 9 rockets.
All of this will be funded by premium stock exchange memberships which could generate $30-50 billion a year, making SpaceX the best funded space exploration company in the world, allowing for exciting advancements in asteroid mining and colonisation of Mars.
