There is a futility experienced in hearing Daniel Kahneman concede that his unique awareness of human irrationality hasn’t changed the way he thinks. However, there needn’t be a fundamental alteration of our intuition or reaction for us to make use of prospect theory or other findings in fallacious cognition. The most important thing is knowing not to act on the spot, and with that time we can then use mental tools to counteract our flawed reasoning and make better decisions.
