Tom MacDonald is a rapper with an interesting focus. He now has a few songs which are in some way reactions to a growing victimhood culture and a belief that certain unalterable traits (skin colour, sexuality, biological sex) can be used to summarise a person.
I’m not making an argument that his songs are of an unmatched quality (I would prefer to listen to a Royce or Killer Mike myself) but they are certainly touching on topics otherwise undiscussed in Hip Hop.
His music touches upon a growing sentiment amongst rational, compassionate people that the current regressive dogmatism of “intersectionality” is itself bigoted and hateful. I hope he continues because he looks like he’s enjoying himself while saying something quite important.
