This is a form of anarchism which understands labour unions to be instrumental in bringing about the revolutionary change required to give the workers true freedom and equality. Anarcho-syndicalists believe the the wage system is an oppressive tool of capitalism where capitalism itself ultimately results in class divisions and inequality and should be dismantled. The core tenants of this movement are:
- workers’ solidarity
- direct action
- workers’ self-management
In regard to direct action, this speaks the to belief that indirect action such as voting for governmental representatives is futile.
