Meditations and Learnings

Akrasia

Socrates

This describes a lack of self-control or a state of acting against one’s better judgement. If one judges that A is the best course of action, why would one do anything other than A?
The term is often used to define weakness of will, but in 1999 Richard Holton argued that it can require a lot of will to follow through after resolving to work in opposition to the decided best course of action.
